"In the Hand of God" (By Pat Harkin) Whenever I want to be alone, I watch the stars from the hand of God. Here I find solace and awe. In those distant lights, I've found a refuge of my own. Here I find a quiet place- Not from the engines, they're never silent- But from the sounds of human life, Their constant presence. There's never silence in our fleet I'm always surrounded by sounds of people, Their footsteps, their voices, The noises of their daily lives, Except here. And there are times I need the silence and The solitude, to think, to grieve, To sort my feelings, Just to feel that there is a purpose And a future to our lives. Sheba, I offer all of this to you- To share what I feel, What I hear and don't hear, And what I see from here. And if you feel it too... Maybe I can share my heart.
