Blue Ice in Trastevere
November 22, 2007 - The Last Night in Trastevere and Rome for that matter
As I had mentioned back on
page 33 - Vatican Museum Highlights IV,
on our last day, we had one final walk through Trastevere to do before that long walk up the hill
to the hotel. It was sad in a way. Everything we saw was wonderful, but we only saw a small portion
of what is in Rome. Let's take that last walk through Trastevere. We will be heading down
via della Scala. Scala means scale. We'll be walking Scale Street, or using the word order
that Italians do, Street of Scales.

A ristorante that we ate at on one of our nights.

Directly across the via is another ristorante.

And yet another one at the next intersection, vicolo della Scala. Yes, there are many ristorante there.

As we continue our walk, there are some small stores along the way.

As is quite evident in Rome, and you can see at all the ristorante, there
are tables outside. Even though it is Novemeber, even though it is chilly
in the night air, at 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM, you'd see people outside dining,
talking, having a good time.

At the intersection with Vicolo del Cedro, translated means Alley of the Cedar.

We are almost at our destination. The via opens up into a piazza - Piazza de Sant'Egidio.

That leads us to via della Paglia. We have no choice but to turn left.

Finally, we have made it to Piazza di Santa Maria.

We walk around the ristorante there in front of us.

Past one more ristorante along the same side and we reached Blue Ice.

We'll take the 2 Euro cup size. I'll have the Tiramisu and Variegato Amarena. Yum!
