Via (Street) Signs in Rome

This page is designed for those traveling to Rome for the first time where the entire trip is not strictly run by a tour guide/group. When we were there, we were not on a tour schedule except that which we devised ourselves. With the help of a map, and easy to find via signs, it is not difficult to navigate Rome on foot.

In each of the pictures, there is a street sign on the building. See if you can find it in each picture. You will see many of these in basically all the alleyways. It will be a big help when you are seeking a via or a viale, or need to use your map. You did remember your map, didn't you?
