Other Pictures in The Coliseum Area

These are some other pictures as seen from the Coliseum area.

I didn't know what it was at the time. This was my first real day in Rome. I took this one while we were still walking around outside, taking in the size of the Coliseum, and looking for the entrance.

Now, I know it's part of the Roman Forum, which we will be seeing next.

Wow, that's a big statue.

I started using that statue as an orientation marker since it is so high in the sky. As we will see later, it is part of the Victor Emmanuel monument.
