Subject: Who Wrote Weight of the World Date: 21 Oct 1999 From: Robert Hanczyk Organization: Robert Airlines - "You buy. We fly." Help. Help me. Help me. Oh please help me. I haven't fallen. I'm still standing. [insert Elton John "I'm Still Standing"] &"Don't you know I'm still standing better than I ever did/looking like a true survivor/feeling like a little kid. I'm still standing after all this time/Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind." Oh, um, where was I? Oh yes. I need some help. No comment from some of you out there on that last statement. you know who you are. :) I have some extra time tonight (SURPRISE)... [insert Styx "Too Much Time on My Hands"] &"Yeah I'm sittin' on this bar stool/talk like a damn fool./Got the 12 O'clock news blues. I've given up hope/on the afternoon soap/and a bottle of cold brew. Is it any wonder I'm not crazy. Is it any wonder I'm sane at all. Well I'm so tired of losing/I've got nothing to do/and all day to do it. Well I'd go out cruising/But I've no place to go/and all night to get there. Is it any wonder I'm not a criminal. Is it any wonder I'm not in jail. Is it any wonder I've got too much time on my hands/It's ticking away with my sanity/I've got too much time on my hands./It's hard to believe such a calamity/I've got too much time on my hands/And it's ticking away/ticking away from me." Oops. There I go again. I'm going through items stored on my hard drive in an effort to clean up space. That includes stories in my Word directory. I came across this one story... &[Insert Peter Ceter "One More Story"] &"One more story/then it's time for bed./One more fairy tale/to rest your weary head./One more kiss/And I'll turn out the lights./Everything's going be all right./I'll still be here/When you wake up in the morning./Close your eyes./Say Good Night./Everything's going be all right." Gosh Darn It. I keep jumping off track. Lucky I'm not on a train. or even worse, a roller coaster. Unless you count me doing Lazy 8's in an airplane like a roller coaster. Go up and turn and hold. Let the nose fall through the horizon and down. Feel the G's. Level out, Begin turn in opposite direction. Weeeeeeeeeeee. Fran knows what I'm talking about. :) Fun. Neat. So anyways....... There's this story called _Weight of the World_ with no author's name. I looked in the archives (Archive update person, please contact me off list. I think it's Erin.) and didn't see it there. When I saw a subsection labeled LAW, you know who I immediately thought of over in San Diego. Checked her page. Nada. So I ask myself, "Self, who could possibly have wrote this. A new name in there is Tala. It talks of a Cylon Raider Crash in Roswell, New Mexico. There are titles for all the sections. 'Into the Great Wide Open.' Checking. Nope, this seems to have nothing to do with that story. Although it is peculiar the names are the same. So who can it be?" [insert Men At Work "Who Can It Be Now?"] &"Who can it be knocking at my door?/Go away./Don't come around here no more./Can't you see that it's late at night./I'm very tired./And I'm not feelling right./All I wish is to be alone./Stay away./Don't you invade my home./Next up, if you hang outside/Don't come in./I'd only run and hide. Who can it be now? (repeat 4x)" Is there anybody out there who can help me? [insert Pink Floyd "Is There Anybody Out There"] &"Is there anybody out there?" ... Hm... Aren't any other words to that short Pink Floyd song from _The Wall_ Okay. So I'll put something else in. [insert Pink Floyd "Another Brick In the Wall, Part 3"] &"I don't need no arms around me./And I don't need no drugs to calm me./I have seen the writing on the wall./Don't think I need anything at all./No I Don't think I'll need anything at all./All in all it was all just bricks in the wall./All in all you were all just bricks in the wall."
